背景信息

Mouse CXCL13 (C-X-C Motif Chemokine Ligand 13), also known as B-Lymphocyte Chemoattractant (BLC), B-Cell Attracting Chemokine 1 (BCA-1), or Small Inducible Protein A14 (SIGLEC14), is a small secreted protein that belongs to the CXC subfamily of chemokines. Chemokines are a group of cytokines that play crucial roles in directing the migration of immune cells during inflammation and homeostasis. In mammals, CXCL13 is primarily expressed by follicular dendritic cells within germinal centers of secondary lymphoid organs such as spleen and lymph nodes. It functions as a potent chemoattractant for B cells expressing its receptor, CXCR5. The CXCL13/CXCR5 axis is particularly important for the organization of lymphoid tissue and the formation of B-cell follicles, which are specialized compartments where B cells undergo proliferation, differentiation, and affinity maturation in response to antigens. Research involving Mouse CXCL13 has been instrumental in understanding various aspects of humoral immunity and autoimmune diseases. Elevated levels of CXCL13 have been observed in several disease states including autoimmune disorders like rheumatoid arthritis and multiple sclerosis, as well as infectious diseases where B cell responses are critical. Additionally, it has been implicated in the pathogenesis of certain cancers, especially those associated with the presence of tertiary lymphoid structures within tumors.
