Rabbit anti-Human VSNL1/VILIP-1 mAb(DET) (RMK0126)

VSNL1/ VILIP-1 is a member of the visinin/recoverin subfamily of neuronal calcium sensor proteins. The encoded protein is strongly expressed in granule cells of the cerebellum where it associates with membranes in a calcium-dependent manner and modulates intracellular signaling pathways of the central nervous system by directly or indirectly regulating the activity of adenylyl cyclase. Alternatively spliced transcripts encoding different proteins have been described. Although VSNL1/ VILIP-1 is constitutively expressed in brain tissues and a few other organs, the expression abundance of VSNL1/ VILIP-1 in brain is significantly higher than that in other parts. VSNL1/ VILIP-1 plays a complex role in pre-apoptosis and regulation of various signal cascades.
